This year three amateur python hunters caught a 17-foot python lying in the middle of the road

Last year the price winner caught a snake over 15 feet long.

The winner who will catch the longest Python gets $1500

More than 850 people had registered to this Florida Python Challenge

The Challenge has professional and amateur divisions, with grand prizes of $2,500 apiece going to whoever catches the most pythons in each division
