Cuba's Oil Depot fire was brought under control after burning for 5 days

This is the worst fire in Cuba's history.

After five days it destroyed 40% of the Caribbean island's main fuel storage facility.

As a result, it caused massive blackouts.

Matanzas is Cuba's largest port for obtaining crude oil and fuel imports.

Cuban heavy crude oil and diesel are stored in Matanzas in 10 huge tanks.

These are mainly used to generate electricity on the island.

During this operation, one firefighter died and 14 went missing on Saturday when the second tank blew up.

Finally, they brought the fire under control after burning for 5 days.
