As the minister was making his way to a program in Brajrajnagar town around 1 o’clock, 60-year-old Das was shot in the heart. A single bullet was found to have entered and exited the body through the left lung and heart, as well as causing significant internal bleeding, during surgery. The wounds were bandaged, and actions were taken to improve the heart’s pumping. He was given immediate ICU care. He was not able to be revived, however, and died from his injuries, the hospital said in a statement.

She mentioned that her husband had a morning video call with their daughter. Jayanti asserted that Das and the minister had no personal animosity toward one another and demanded a thorough investigation be conducted to ascertain the truth.
